Dickson signs N299b 2019 budget into law

Governor Henry Seriake Dickson has signed the 2019 Appropriation Bill of N299 billion into law.
Dickson, who signed the bill over the weekend, also assented to the Administration of Criminal Justice Bill in Government House, Yenagoa, said he had forwarded an appropriation bill of N275 billion to the state House of Assembly but which was increased to N299 billion.
  A statement by his Special Adviser, Media Relations, Fidelis Soriwei, quoted the governor as saying that he was convinced that the budget would support the completion of a lot of the ongoing projects in the state.
  Dickson, who observed that investments made in every sector had been targeted at turning around a lot of critical areas, however noted that a number of investments still needed to be made in the areas of education, healthcare and other infrastructure.
