Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has once again cautioned truck operators against the unauthorised use of its logo, stressing that the practice has led to reputational damage and unwarranted embarrassment for the brand.
Despite repeated warnings, the company said some truckers with no link to Dangote continue to display its logo, often for personal or undisclosed motives. In several cases, vehicles bearing the logo have been implicated in incidents later wrongly attributed to the conglomerate.
“We have repeatedly cautioned truckers to refrain from using our logo on unauthorised vehicles,” the company stated. “Moving forward, we will increase vigilance and take decisive legal action against misuse of our brand identity, particularly concerning vehicles unaffiliated with the Dangote Group.”
Dangote further expressed concern about the spread of misinformation, particularly reports that automatically link road accidents to its fleet. The company urged the public and media to fact-check before dissemination, warning against individuals exploiting tragic incidents for malicious or financial gain.
