Former Super Egales striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, has been released by Convetry City after making just three apperances for the English League outfit.
In February, the Sky Blues signed the 34-year-old in a deal that runs through until the end of the season to fortify their fight against relegation from the English third division.
But after featuring for Russell Slade’s side thrice – with no goals to show forth – a mutual agreement between both parties have seen the player’s contract terminated.
“The club can announce that former Everton striker Yakubu has had his contract mutually terminated, with immediate effect,” reads an official on the club website.
Yakubu will now have to sort his future out elsewhere after enjoying successes with the likes of Everton, Middlesbrough, Portsmouth among others.
