The six zonal coordinators of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) have congratulated Comrade Oladele Samuel Omotayo, better known as Dele Kenko, on his appointment as Chairman of the Independent Convention Planning Committee (IN-CPC).
This is contained in a Monday statement signed by Chairman, Forum of Zonal Coordinators and NANS Zonal Coordinator (North Central), Hussaini Jamilu Ebbo and sent to SunOnline.
Other zonal coordinators include Zone A (North West), Comr. Nuruddeen Baba Waziri, Zone B (South South), Comr. Victor Ogechukwu Anthony, Zone D (South West), Comr. Josiah Kayode Adeyemo, Zone E (North East), Comr. Muhammed Muazu Hina, and Zone F (South East), Comr. Emmanuel Ekechukwu Iyke.
The zonal coordinators also hailed other members of the convention planning committee, describing their appointments as “well-deserved”.
The statement reads, “Your emergence at this crucial time in the history of our great association reflects the confidence reposed in your capacity, integrity, and commitment to the democratic ideals of NANS.
“The responsibility before you is significant, as the credibility and success of the forthcoming convention depend largely on your neutrality, transparency, and strict adherence to the constitution of the association.
“As leaders representing the six geopolitical zones, we collectively reaffirm our full confidence in your ability to deliver a free, fair, credible, and hitch-free convention that will further strengthen the unity, stability, and institutional integrity of NANS.”
The zonal coordinators urged the chairman and members of the IN-CPC to remain impartial, focused, and guided by due process at every stage of the planning and execution of the convention.
“The entire student body across the federation looks forward to a process that reflects the true spirit of democracy, accountability, and inclusiveness.
“Be assured of our cooperation and support as you discharge this important national assignment. We are confident that you will surely deliver.
“I wish to sincerely advise the prospective aspirant to make themselves available whenever the ICPC needed their attention, otherwise they should kindly step aside.
“The NANS Constitution (Chatter of Demand) is clear on the processes of elections, therefore, i urge us all to cooperate with the committee that was set up for a befitting convention,” the statement further reads.
