President of The Akwa Ibom Clergy Forum (AICLEF), Pastor Joseph Emmanuel, has called on the clergy to take an active role in praying for and working toward the nation’s restoration.

He spoke at inaugural induction of members, seminar and awards in Lagos. The theme Citizens’ Health: Panacea to Church Growth and National Productivity:

“As Nigerians, we must have a positive attitude toward the country because we do not have another country. Let us be like Joshua and Caleb, who brought back a positive report from the Promised Land, instead of those who discouraged the people and made Moses’ task harder.

“The clergy should serve as a source of encouragement. Leaders cannot succeed if their followers constantly make the work harder for them. “Prayers alone are not sufficient and that everyone must work for greatness.”

Dr. Ime Akpan, the Medical Director of Uwemedimo Hospital, Lagos, said: “Ministers often focus so much on spiritual matters that they sometimes neglect their physical health, which is essential for their work. No matter how much the Spirit is leading you in your ministry, your body must be healthy to carry that Spirit.
