The Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria ( CICAN) the media professionals that report and analyse the country’s manufacturing, commerce and industry, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) sectors is set to host the “2023 CICAN Workshop and Award ceremony”, with the theme “Tax policy reforms and effects on Nigeria’s business.”
In a statement signed by the body’s National Chairman, Charles Okonji and the Event’s Chairperson, Princess Funmi Adeoye, the event is billed to hold on Tuesday November 21, 2023.
The statement disclosed that the event will take place at Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall, 2nd floor, Radisson Blu Hotel, 38 – 40 , Isaac John Street, GRA, Ikeja from 11am.
Some of the guests expected to grace the occasion include the First Lady of the Federation, Senator ( Mrs ) Oluremi Tinubu, the Honorable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Dr Doris Uzoka – Anite, the President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria ( MAN) Otunba Francis Meshioye, the President of Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture ( NACCIMA) Otunba Dele Oye Kelvin Esq, Mr. Uwem-edimo Sampson, Chairman Nigerians In Diaspora Organisation, Russia (NIDO Russia), the Executive Chairman of Federal Inand Revenue Service, Director Generals of some parasatals under the ministry of Industry, Trade and investment, tax experts, captains of industries and chief executive officers of many private firms and top manufacturers.
The association will confer its prestigious crystal excellence award on some captains of industry and some image makers of some organisations who are partners with CICAN.
At the end of every year, CICAN usually organised a workshop where top government’s functionaries, manufactures, and bosses of agencies are assemble to proffer solutions to topical issue (s).
A communique will be issued at the end of the programme, which will be sent to relevant governmental institution for implementation .
The statement disclosed that CICAN with its over 70 strong membership , who are publishers, editors, correspondents and reporters will use their various broadcast, print and online platforms to deseminate the issues discussed and the communique arrived at the event.
