Chelle has hit England, where he will meet with Premier League stars like Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, Taiwo Awoniyi ahead of next month’s must-win 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

It was learnt that Eric Chelle is accompanied by his first assistant, Hedi Taboubi on this trip to England.

They will talk with the players on how the Super Eagles will approach these two qualifiers and what is expected of them both on and off the pitch.

“Eric is working quietly and with a clear direction,” a relable source told SCORENigeria

The Super Eagles are guests of Rwanda on March 21 and four days later they welcome Zimbabwe to Uyo.

Rwanda tops Group C with seven points ahead of South Africa and Benin, who also have same number of points but inferior goals difference.

Lesotho is fourth on five points, while the Super Eagles are fifth with three points.

Zimbabwe is bottom of the standings on two points after four rounds of matches.

Meanwhile, Chelle has rescheduled his return to Nigeria and he will now be in Abuja by the third week of this month, top officials informed SCORENigeria. He was originally billed to return to Abuja this week.

On his return to Nigeria, he will hold several meetings with his employers, the NFF, as well as other critical stakeholders ahead of next month’s must-win 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

Nigeria tackles Rwanda on March 21 in Kigali, before they welcome Zimbabwe to Uyo on March 25 as the 2026 World Cup qualifiers resume in full steam.
