Eduke said the new MOD members have gone through various trainings to prepare them for the tasks ahead as first responders in case of security breaches in the church.
“I urge them to be committed to the job, as that is the reason for this inauguration today. I urge the Federal Government to support a movement like this to help curtail the rising spate of insecurity at the grassroots
“It is our responsibility as a church and movement of God to assist the government in our own little way to ensure the church is safe, our environment is safe, and the entire country is safe. Both government and the church have different but complementary roles to play in ensuring the country is safe and secured,” he stated.
The Chaplain, MOD of the Ijede Deanery zonal command, Reverend Father Mark Okojie, said over 100 members of the MOD were inaugurated. He described the newly inducted members as men and women of integrity.
The Chairman of the committee for the inauguration, Sunday Ngwuta, urged them to rededicate themselves to the service of God through the church, adding that the responsibility is not about the uniform, but about maintaining a good relationship with God.
