CHAIRMAN of Enyimba FC of Aba, Felix Anyansi-Agwu has said the People’s Elephant would leave no stone un-turned to ensure that Vipers SC of Uganda bites the dust when they come calling for the second leg of the CAF Champions League encounter slated for Port Harcourt on Sunday.
The Uganda champions won the first leg at home 1-0 and Enyimba would be targeting at least a 2-0 win in the return leg to progress to the first round of this year’s Champions League.
Enyimba would be playing home away from home as both teams will clash at the Adokiye Amesiamaka Stadium in Port Harcourt.
However, Anyansi was undaunted. According to him, his wards will come good when hostilities begin.
Speaking against this backdrop, Anyansi said he believed his boys had done their home work with the way and manner they were responding to training.
“This is not the first time we are facing this type of situation and we have always come out of it unscathed. I urge our fans to come out en-mass and support their darling team. I believe we will qualify”, Anyansi enthused.
Meanwhile, Vipers SC defender, Yusuf Mukisa had reportedly vowed his team will send out Enyimba from this year’s CAF Champions League when both teams meet on Sunday.
This is Vipers’ maiden appearance in the continental competition and all they needed is any draw or a win to qualify to the first round where they will face the winners between Lioli FC (Lesotho) and Vital’O FC (Burundi).
The defender, who is one of the most experienced players in the team, had confidence that Vipers can go down into the books of history by ejecting the two-time African champions.
“We have prepared ourselves well and know that we don’t have the pedigree, but our confidence will inspire us to win,” Mukisa said.
