The Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria (C&S) has concluded plans to meet with President Bola Tinubu and state governors to give advice on the current economic and security situation in the country.

The Church, which is marking its 100 years of existence in the country has, therefore, called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to look critically into some challenges confronting the nation.

It said, the church was not unaware of the present harsh economic realities, assuring that one of the activities lined up to celebrate the 100 years of the church is to visit the presidency and the governors, plead with them and advise them, especially, President Tinubu, to look into some policies tend to be anti-people.

Addressing the press yesterday, the General Secretary of the church, Senior Apostle Tayo Ajose, said churches all over the country have a vital role to play in the overall wellbeing of the people, especially, economic policy adding, “When our fathers and mothers visit the president, it would be to tell him the truth, ask him about the well being of the country and advise him on the need to change the economic policies. We will also pray for him because we believe in the efficacy of prayers, and minister to him to change his tactics economically. We will not limit our visit to prayers alone, we will back it up with action. The church is intentional in addressing issues, especially economic issues. If you must know, our fathers advised all our churches to stop everything we do everyday and pray for the nation at 12 midnight and we have been doing just that. Nobody is happy with the rate of kidnapping and banditry as a result of the harsh situation of things. So, the C&S church is not resting on its oars in this regard and we pray that God will help us.

“Throughout this year, up until September 9, 2025, a variety of activities have been lined up to celebrate the centenary of the birth of the church. Themed, ‘Centenary Without Boundaries,’ the Unification Church is poised to showcase its strengths to the world in many facets of life. Throughout the year, Seraphs and friends of the Church will be actively engaged in their localities through programmes that highlight what the Cherubim & Seraphim Church stands for.

“For the year-long celebration, several activities have been planned by the Unification Church. These include centenary revivals across all constituent churches in Nigeria and the Diaspora, seminars and lectures, as well as a centenary rally across various states in the country. There will also be novelty football matches and other sporting events .
