Bilal Junaid: why his advice can change the way you look at business

Many entrepreneurs want to be their own bosses and own their freedom. Revenues and profits will vary from business to business, but freedom of time is a huge motivating factor for launching a business. This is especially true for Bilal Junaid who started off in the corporate world before claiming his own stake in the tech field.
With a degree in Mechatronics Engineering and winning several computer science and robotics competitions, Bilal worked at Amazon Web Services while still in college. He went on to become a senior engineer at a Series B funded startup called Prezi in San Francisco. Four years later, Bilal started his own venture capital firm. He has deployed millions into tech companies across the United States, Asia, and Europe. He has worked with Silicon Valley’s top venture capitalists and the leading traders in Hong Kong, Singapore, and New York.
Bilal comes from a middle-class background and was the first in his family to start a business. Yet in this business, Bilal is not tied to a normal office desk. Instead, he describes himself as a “digital nomad” working from anywhere in the world. This freedom is very important to Bilal as he wants to be independent and have full control over his time. Bilal has found his way into the world’s top venture capitalist circles and has also found financial freedom.
Instead of seeking blind help to scale his business, Bilal was determined to do this himself. Realizing the path to a lucrative living was building software and applications that could be used my millions of people, Bilal taught himself computer science in order to achieve his goals.
Realizing he needed to make money work for him, Bilal then turned to investing. As he brought in revenues from his software, he invested the money to scale up his wealth. This simple strategy worked very well, and Bilal is now the digital nomad he set out to be. His advice: just think to the future and don’t complicate things to get there. Think of a future-proof business idea, invest in yourself, and picture a job as a path to freedom and not being chained to the corporate world.
