The Access Bank Executive Director, Commercial Banking, Hadiza Ambursa, has urged banks, financial institutions and the government to support the tourism industry for the country’s economic growth.

Ambursa said their intervention would culminate into financial inclusion, growth of the SMEs, as well as formal and informal sectors of the nation’s economy.

According to her, “we didn’t have many foreigners in the last event at Argungu like we had many of them participating in the past events, and coming to help the state and country’s economy.”

The bank boss added that if there were many of the foreigners coming to participate, the state and the country would have more funds; the GDP would increase because the people coming would be spending and it would help the SME’s, smaller businesses. They would have made impact on the industrial sector and Nigeria in general.

The bank executive director added that the bank, because of its passion for the industry intervened in the Argungu fishing festival justa s it was also intervening in the National Theatre project with the Central Bank of Nigeria.
