The 2025 Golden Stars Awards were held in Lagos on 6 July, bringing together figures from entertainment, sports, politics, business and digital media for the annual ceremony. The event recognised achievements across dozens of categories and attracted guests from across the country’s creative, corporate and public sectors.
Ayra Starr emerged as Artist of the Year, prevailing in a category that also featured Davido, Burna Boy, Asake and Wizkid. The award followed another successful year for the singer, whose music continued to enjoy strong commercial and international visibility.
In sports, Victor Osimhen was named Footballer of the Year. The Super Eagles striker was nominated alongside Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Cyriel Dessers and Ola Aina.
Digital entertainment was also recognised during the ceremony. Peller won Streamer of the Year after a year that saw online creators continue to attract large audiences across social media platforms.
In the Beauty Content Creator of the Year category, Akanigwo Daniel Chinedu was announced as the winner. Chioma Goodhair and Omoyemi Akerele were also nominated in the category.
The business sector featured prominently among the awards presented on the night. Access Bank was named Fintech/Digital Bank of the Year, ahead of other nominees including PalmPay, OPay, Kolomoni, Kuda, Moniepoint and PiggyVest.
The ceremony also honoured personalities from politics, philanthropy, tourism and entrepreneurship. Independent reports from the event confirmed additional winners and honourees across several categories, including entertainment, tourism and charitable service.
The Golden Stars Awards recognise individuals and organisations across a broad range of sectors, including music, film, sports, business and public service. The 2025 edition was held at Lekki in Lagos State.
