Lagos, Feb 15, 2024 (NAN) The Commanding Officer, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Kada, Capt. Andrew Zidon on has advised school children to stay away from academic distraction and remain focused.
The Commanding Officer NNS KADA spoke during a familiarization tour of Naval establishment and vessels by Holy Family School children, Ijegun, Ikotun, Lagos,:
The school children were on board Nigerian Navy Landing Ship Tank (LST) the NNS Kada which was ordered from Damen Group in 2019 and built at Albwardy Damen shipyard in Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to Zidon, success in life begins at such a tender stage in the primary and secondary levels so should be taken seriously.
He advised the children to always listen to their teachers and seniors in school adding that obedience was the basis in to the m military.
” You must always obey your teachers, seniors and parents if you want to excel in life, all the men and women you’re seeing in uniform made it because they obeyed those in authority.
“If any child wants to join any of the military forces, you must be ready to submit yourself to the authority, learn to be humble and committed to your studies.
” I will advise you all to keep away from bad friends and those that would discourage you from concentrating in your academics so you can excel, ” he said.
He further encouraged the children to join any of the Nigerian forces because a vocation with dignity, irrespective of any course they wanted to study in school.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the children were taken round to all the sections of NNS Kada and educated on the functions and restrictions.
