Atalanta awaits January offers for Lookman

Atalanta is actively looking to sell Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman in the January transfer window, provided the right offer comes in.

While they haven’t set a specific price tag on the Nigerian player, the club’s intentions are clear.

Lookman has struggled this season, contributing only 3 goals and 1 assist in 14 official matches, making him a focal point of attention.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Atalanta is open to negotiating a transfer if a suitable proposal is made.

Although a precise price hasn’t been declared, it’s widely understood that the Nerazzurri valued Lookman at around €50 million last July, without bonuses.

Inter Milan had a bid of €42 million on the table, plus challenging bonuses that would only be realized if the team won the Scudetto or the Champions League in the first year. As such, the current valuation remains in the ballpark of that figure.

With a year and a half left on his contract, Atalanta is in a strong position. If a transfer is pursued in June, Article 17 could be utilized for his release, although any compensation determined by FIFA would likely fall significantly below current market value.

Notably, Galatasaray has shown interest, and further inquiries from mid to high-level European clubs are expected in the next few weeks. While predicting Lookman’s future remains uncertain, it’s clear that opportunities for a transfer are more viable now than they were last July.
