With a commitment to quality craftsmanship and unique designs, wave making fashion house, MJM Royals, has established itself as a trendsetter in the industry, catering to personalities who appreciate a fusion of tradition and modernity in their clothing choices.

Based in Lagos, MJM Royals specialises in indigenous apparels. It’s also renowned for blending traditional Nigerian aesthetics with contemporary styles, showcasing a diverse range of clothing that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the nation.

MJM Royals was inspired by a shared vision and collaboration between Owolabi Quadri Adegboyega and Valentina Olaide Adegboyega. But apart from being business partners, the duo’s mission was to portray and preserve Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage through unique and stylish fashion offerings.

Driven by a passion for creativity and desire to contribute to the vibrant world of fashion, both Owolabi and Valentina developed interest in fashion design early in life. They draw their creative inspiration from the rich tapestry of Nigerian culture, as well as global fashion trends that resonate with the brand’s ethos.

Owolabi reiterated: “As a fashion brand, MJM Royals specializes in a diverse range of indigenous fashion apparels, seamlessly fusing traditional Nigerian elements with modern design aesthetics.”

Valentina, however, disclosed that MJM Royals balances uniqueness and commercial appeal “by maintaining a distinctive cultural identity in designs, ensuring that they resonate with a broad audience.”

But for the pair, the most challenging part of trying to become successful fashion designers lies in navigating the dynamic industry, staying innovative, and building a brand that stands out.

The iconic designers attributed the coming of age of African fashion industry to a number of factors, which include celebration of cultural diversity, recognition of African talent, and growing demand for unique and authentic designs.

“Over the years, the Nigerian fashion industry has made significant impact globally, and MJM Royals has contributed significantly to this feat by showcasing the nation’s unique style on a broader stage,” Valentina remarked.

With its current strides, the Adegboyegas have projected MJM Royals to be a global brand in the next five to 10 years.

“In the next five to 10 years, MJM Royals envisions solidifying its position as a key player in the global fashion scene.

We will continue to push boundaries and contribute to the evolution of African fashion. This is a goal we have set for ourselves and a goal we must achieve,” they both concurred.
