Suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, has denied owning a property linked to him by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the ongoing trial over alleged non-disclosure of assets.
In his court testimony on Tuesday before Justice James Omotosho, the Federal High Court presiding judge in Abuja, Kyari stated that some of the properties belonged to his late father, who he said had 30 children.
Kyari added that the allegations came as a surprise, noting that the documents for the assets are with the Borno State Ministry of Land.
The former head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) further denied ownership of a polo ground reportedly linked to him in Borno, saying he could not afford such an expanse of land.

“Even Dangote, who is the richest man in Nigeria, does not own such a property; how much more someone like me.
“The polo ground had been in existence even when I was a child. We used to go there to play,” Kyari said.
However, he admitted ownership of a farmland located along the Abuja–Kaduna road, adding that he had been in charge of the management of the property for about a decade.
