All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party in Osun State, has won 22 seats out of the 26 in the state’s House of Assembly.

According to the results announced by the state’s Independent National Electoral Commission’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Segun Agbaje, in Osogbo, the state capital, yesterday, the APC cleared 22 seats. The opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party ((PDP) won three seats, while the result for the Oriade constituency was declared inconclusive.

With the result, the ruling party, which had 23 seats before now, still maintains its majority status in the assembly. PDP had only two seats in the outgoing assembly, but has added one more seat.

While expressing delight at the victory, the APC said it was people’s decision to enjoy continuity of good governance in the state.

The party’s Director of Publicity, Kunle Oyatomi, in a statement, yesterday, said: “It is a clear and emphatic statement by the people that they still want good governance to continue in the state.”

The party dedicated the victory to the entire people of the state.
