The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday announced the appointment of Hon. Oluwole Oke, a five-term member of the House of Representatives representing Ijesa North Federal Constituency, as State Director-General for the Osun 2026 Governorship Campaign Committee.
Oke, who joined the APC from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in May 2025, was named alongside other directors-general for the three senatorial districts. They include Prince Adebayo Adeleke as Director-General for Osun Central Senatorial District; Prince Dotun Babayemi for Osun West Senatorial District; and Hon. Thomas Ogungbangbe for Osun East Senatorial District.
Speaking after his appointment, Hon. Oke expressed gratitude to party leadership and members for the confidence reposed in him, saying the APC had begun preparations for what he described as victory for the party in the forthcoming election.
He also issued what he termed a “quit notice” to Governor Ademola Adeleke, urging the governor to start preparing to leave Government House, while asserting that the APC has the capacity to defeat a sitting administration.

Oke said the APC’s resolve was strengthened by the party’s experience in previous electoral contests, noting that many members of the party who were involved in the outcome of the 2022 governorship election had since moved to the APC.
Responding, the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, said the campaign structure had been successfully put in place and urged all party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the election.
He said the party is targeting victory at the poll scheduled for August 15, 2026, while charging supporters to rally behind the APC candidate.
In his remarks, Prince Adebayo Adeleke, who serves as Director-General for the Osun Central Senatorial District, said the APC campaign would be “crime-free” and “crisis-free”, adding that the opposition should be cautious of any move capable of triggering unrest.
He expressed confidence that security agencies in the state would ensure order during the campaign period and prevent criminal activities.
