Clocking 60 may not be something to fret about at all. To some, it has its perks and probably feels like an ecstasy, which can only be experienced when one joins the Sexagenarian Club. Anthony Kojo Williams, the scion of the Williams dynasty and former Chairman of the Nigerian Football Association (NFA), turned 60 last Sunday, and has unarguably acquired the bragging rights to whatever ecstasy reposes in that proverbial diamond age.
Not a stranger to limelight, Kojo, in his younger days, was the quintessential socialite who serenaded women with his good looks, physique, suave manners, impeccable style and passion for football. Even as the flavours of youth take a last bow, life unfolds more colourfully for the celebrant as he joined the Sexagenarian Club. A colourful character and a man of vast means, but having been out of the social scene for quite a while, it didn’t come as a surprise to many that Kojo hasn’t thrown the mother of all shindigs to mark his new age. And to cap it, he is yet to try the marriage institution again.
Kojo used to be married to Dr. Remilekun Williams. The union, which produced four children, came to an abrupt end over a decade ago. A few years after Kojo parted ways with his first wife, he married Isidora, the mixed-race daughter of the late Akarigbo of Remo Land, Oba Michael Adeniyi Sonariwo. The union, like his first marriage, did not stand the test of time and the duo soon parted ways.
His late father, Chief Sebastian Babatunde Williams, was a sports-loving business mogul and philanthropist.
