Anambra youths hold prayers for man who died watching S’Eagles’ match

Youths from Amanuke community in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State have held special prayers for late Chief Osondu Nwoye, an Ivory Coast-based businessman who died watching the semi final match between Nigeria and South Africa.

Nwoye, the chairman of Auto Promotion Limited, a foremost motor spare parts company based in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, reportedly slumped and died, while watching the epic encounter.

He was said to have journeyed from Abidjan to Bouake in the same country to watch the game before his death.

Youths of Amanuke where the deceased hailed from gathered at their village square to mourn him and also prayed that such would not occur again in the community.

A youth leader, Chukwualuka Nnamekwue said: “We gathered to mourn our illustrious son, Chief Osondu Nwoye, owner of Auto Promotion.

“We also prayed that such would not   befall our community again. Ozoemena which we prayed for means let it not happen again.”

The youths made bonfire at the square, danced round, making chants and prayers.

It was gathered that before his death, Chief Nwoye was a prominent son of the community, and a philanthropist.
