Technology strategist, Rock Adote, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees (BOT) of Madonna University Nigeria, a move expected to bolster the institution’s digital governance and strengthen its technological systems.

Adote’s appointment comes as universities increasingly confront issues related to data security, identity management and the need for more robust digital infrastructure to support academic administration and institutional operations.

With more than a decade of experience in digital transformation and enterprise identity management, Adote is expected to contribute expertise that could help the university build more secure and efficient digital systems.

Stakeholders say the appointment reflects Madonna University’s efforts to integrate technology-driven governance and strategic leadership within its administrative structure as the education sector becomes more digitally oriented.

As a member of the Board of Trustees, Adote will participate in providing oversight and policy direction for the institution. The board plays a key role in guiding the university’s long-term development strategies, safeguarding academic standards and ensuring that the institution remains responsive to global shifts in education and technology.

Adote has built a professional reputation in cybersecurity, enterprise identity management and digital transformation, working with organisations to design secure digital systems and manage identity infrastructure aimed at protecting sensitive data.

Industry analysts noted that enterprise identity management has become increasingly critical for higher institutions, which manage large volumes of digital information ranging from student records and staff credentials to research data and academic archives. Effective systems help safeguard such data while ensuring that authorised users can access information securely.

Through his role on the board, Adote is expected to provide insights that could strengthen Madonna University’s digital infrastructure and enhance its technological resilience, while supporting the institution’s adoption of modern digital governance practices.

Other newly appointed members of the Board of Trustees include Sir Nwagwu Aloysius Emeka, a geophysicist; Chief Arthur Obi Okafor (SAN), principal counsel at Arthur Obi Okafor & Associates; Professor Anagboso Martin Osita, deputy vice-chancellor of Madonna University; Mrs Ike Angela Unaoaku of the African Travel Association; Barrister Augustine Nenwa Obo; and Rev. Fr. Stephen Ifeanyichukwu Nwatah (FJS).

Reacting to his appointment, Adote expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve the institution, noting the growing importance of technology in higher education.

“Digital transformation will play a critical role in shaping the future of academic administration, research and learning environments,” he said.

Education analysts edu the development highlights Madonna University’s intention to strengthen its leadership structure with professionals who understand the intersection between technology and institutional development, as universities increasingly adopt digital systems to support teaching, research and governance.
