From Jos to Nollywood: Precious K Charles’ journey into acting and production

Nigerian actress and producer Precious K Charles, has built her career around storytelling, moving from skits and short plays into acting, film production and digital content creation.

Now based in Lagos, Precious is originally from Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State but spent much of her early life growing up in Jos, Plateau State.

She said her experience in northern Nigeria played an important role in shaping her understanding of people and cultures.

“Growing up in the North, especially in Jos, was a beautiful experience,” Precious said. “The weather was cold most of the time, and Jos was home to people from so many different tribes and cultures.”

According to the actress, the diversity she experienced while growing up gave her an opportunity to understand different traditions and cultures.

“Being surrounded by such diversity gave me the opportunity to learn about different traditions and cultures, and it also helped me become fluent in Hausa,” she added.

Born on May 27, Precious is of Igbo heritage and speaks English, Igbo and Hausa.

Her education began at NVRI Staff School before she proceeded to the National Open University of Nigeria. She graduated from the institution in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology.

While her academic background is in technology, Precious developed a growing interest in creative expression and storytelling.

Her journey into entertainment began with skits and short plays, which eventually led her towards a professional career in acting.

“I started with skits and short plays, and loved the idea of telling stories that people could watch, relate to, and enjoy,” she explained.

“That passion for storytelling inspired me to pursue acting and entertainment.”

Precious said she began her acting career professionally in 2022. Since then, she has expanded her involvement in the entertainment industry to include film production and digital media.

Her acting credits include Fix My Heart, Papa’s Princess, Home Coming, Designed for Me, Incredible Hearts, The Price of Us, Campus Love, Broken Journey and My Heaven.

Her career has also brought her into collaboration with Nollywood actors, including Tobi Bakare and Timini Egbuson.

Beyond acting, Precious has worked in production and has taken on producer and executive-producer responsibilities on a number of projects.

She is also involved in digital content creation and lifestyle influencing, with content interests covering film, skits, music and lifestyle.

Precious has worked with brands in music marketing, skincare and lifestyle, while also building her professional identity through her company, Kasimma TV.

Her work across technology and entertainment reflects two areas of her professional background. Having studied Information Technology, she has continued to explore opportunities in digital media alongside her work in film.

The actress also cites Angelina Jolie as one of the personalities who has influenced her.

“Actually I find Angelina Jolie very inspiring as she bodies her role and also inspire me in the way she carries herself,” Precious said.

As she continues her career from Lagos, Precious is expanding her work across acting, film production and digital content creation, with a focus on developing her presence within Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
