Newly crowned African Boxing Union (ABU) champion, Adijat Gbadamosi says her dream is to conquer the world for Nigeria again knocking out a Zimbabwean as she basks in the euphoria of her recent historic victory in Ghana.
Gbadamosi, a Youth Olympic Silver medalist became the giant killer knocking out (TKO) Zimbabwean soldier, Patience Mastara, in five rounds over Zimbabwean soldier in a scheduled 10 rounder to win the ABU Super Bantamweight title.
At a meet and greet event to present her ABU title belt to the press, organized by Monarch events headed by the CEO Stanley Williams in Lagos, the first Nigerian female boxer to claim an African title said her target is a World Boxing Control (WBC) title fight.
The African champion said her ambition is to become the best in the sport as she hopes to conquer the world in the boxing ring sooner than anyone would imagine.
“It is not a bad dream to put Nigeria in the face of the world again if I become the world champion.
“The WBC title fight is coming up later in the year, maybe in November, so I need a lot of support and training,” she said.
“Words cannot explain how happy I am to have this title because I trained hard for it. I didn’t want to lose the opportunity my manager gave me to fight for the ABU title.
