Nigerian troops under Operation HADIN KAI, supported by the Nigerian Air Force and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have repelled an attack by suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists on a military position in Pulka, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
The attack saw the insurgents launch an assault on the military position, but the troops held their ground and responded with sustained firepower, preventing the attackers from breaching or overrunning the location. The military said the resistance forced the terrorists to withdraw after suffering casualties.
The operation was supported by the Nigerian Air Force, whose Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) activities helped security forces track the movement of the attackers and coordinate the response on the ground.
As the terrorists attempted to retreat, air assets reportedly carried out precision strikes against identified hostile elements. The strikes disrupted their withdrawal and limited their ability to regroup.
The Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) also contributed by providing local information and assisting troops with situational awareness within the community.
Following the confrontation, security forces maintained control of military positions across Pulka, preventing the attackers from gaining control of the area.
Similarly, several insurgents were reportedly killed in airstrikes conducted on Yankuzo community in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The operation was carried out on Monday evening by security forces operating under Operation FANSAN YANMA, according to counter-insurgency publication Zagazola Makama.
Local sources said five military aircraft participated in the operation, targeting suspected terrorists in the community.
Several fighters were reportedly killed in the strikes, although the exact number of casualties could not be immediately established.
Among those reportedly killed was a suspected terrorist identified as Isiya Gurgu, said to be a close associate of a notorious bandit leader, Musa Commander, who is reportedly linked to the Ado Aleru network.
According to the report, Musa Commander is associated with several communities allegedly controlled by armed groups, including Tsamiya and other settlements in the area.
Sources also claimed that the security forces exercised caution during the operation to minimise the risk of civilian casualties, with the strikes reportedly focused on individuals seen carrying weapons or dressed in military-style uniforms.
Several other suspected terrorists were also reportedly wounded in the airstrikes.
