Abia ex-Dep Gov receives over 5,000 PDP decampees to APC, assures of better days ahead

A former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Dr. Chris Akomas has received over 5,000 decampees from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Obingwa Local Government Area into the All Progressives Congress (APC), with the assurance of better days ahead.

Addressing the decampees led by Abia State House of Assembly member, representing Obingwa West, Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, at his country home, Nenu, Dr. Akomas who is also the National Chairman of Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria, said APC is a political party that has a commitment to making life and living, better and more affordable to the citizens of Nigeria.

The former deputy governor disclosed that the ruling party, is not just the biggest political party in the country, but also, a party that is very strategic, and which cares so much about inclusiveness.

Welcoming those who decamped, Akomas said their defection was a major boost for the APC in Abia State, and called for unity of purpose at all times in the quest to serve humanity and further develop the country’s democracy.

He noted that Erondu Jnr who is the House Committee Chairman on Public Service Matters, was a foundation member of the APC in Abia, having served as the party’s first Administrative Secretary in the state alongside Chief Nyerere Chinenye Anyim, its pioneer National Vice Chairman from Abia.

He gave his assurance that they all will work together for the progress of the country, betterment of Abia State as well as Obingwa Local Government Area.

Hon. Erondu pledged to sustain his record of effective representation and urged the people of Obingwa, Abia State, the South-East and Nigeria to support the APC.

He extolled the former Federal Commissioner who represented the State at the Revenue Allocation Mobilization and Fiscal Commission in Abuja for all his efforts in bringing them together and pursuing a common front, to attract development to the area.
