Former federal lawmaker and entrepreneur Hon. Shina Peller has called on politicians to end empty promises and sweet talk, urging them to focus on practical solutions to rebuild Nigerians and the country.
Speaking, as Nigeria marked its 66th Independence Anniversary, he said the harsh economic realities confronting households and businesses could no longer be sugarcoated.
Peller, who is the Oyo North senatorial candidate on the platform of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), stated that public trust in government has remained thin, noting that citizens need leaders who would move beyond speeches, statistics, and rhetoric to take concrete action.
According to him, the nation’s current challenges demand courageous leadership, greater accountability, and policies that would create opportunities, particularly for the youth.
He expressed confidence in the resilience and creativity of Nigerian youth, and credited them with driving local economies, despite prevailing hardships.
Genuine national rebirth, he argued, requires youth inclusion, economic decentralisation, and results-oriented governance.

“Nigeria does not need career talkers or empty statistics. We need fearless doers ready to disrupt the status quo and demand accountability from our public institutions,” he said.
To demonstrate his commitment, Peller announced the Independence Day Liftteller Giveaway, a ₦3million empowerment initiative providing financial relief to citizens. The initiative will run in three phases, and give 30 beneficiaries ₦100,000 each.
He explained that to participate, individuals must download and register on the Liftteller app, follow Peller’s profile, and answer trivia questions posted on his official social media platforms and Liftteller handle. The first 10 correct respondents in each phase will win ₦100,000, he said.
He stated further that the initiative was launched on September 12, 2026. He described it as a technology-driven platform connecting individuals in need with those willing to offer financial and non-financial support. Peller stated that the giveaway translates his message into tangible aid during tough economic times.
He warned participants to remain vigilant against fraudsters, impersonators, and fake accounts requesting registration fees or personal banking details.
Peller, who also clarified that he has not authorised any third-party channels or payment requests, urged the public to verify information exclusively through his official platforms.
