The Dominion City Church, Ajah, Lagos, is using its annual conference to address unemployment and skills gaps among Nigerians through practical training, entrepreneurship and leadership development.
The four-day conference, with the theme, “Empowerment for All Round Dominion,” commenced on Thursday, October 1, and is expected to end on Sunday at the church’s headquarters in Ajah.
The programme, hosted by the General Overseer of Dominion City, Dr. David Ogbueli, is expected to attract more than 15,000 professionals, entrepreneurs and other participants.
The conference focuses on skills development, entrepreneurship, leadership and national development, with vocational training sessions designed to equip participants with practical skills that can improve their employability and promote self-reliance.
The training sessions include shoemaking; soap making, barbing, tailoring, Adire production and artificial intelligence, among others.
Other sessions are focused on financial management, leadership and effective participation in the marketplace. The programme also features the “Joseph and Esther Revolution,” which the organisers describe as biblical models for leadership, governance and economic management.
According to the organisers, the conference combines spiritual teachings with practical sessions aimed at providing participants with knowledge and skills that can contribute to community and national development.
The organisers said the programme is also addressing challenges such as unemployment, skills shortages and leadership, with emphasis on practical solutions that could enable participants to contribute meaningfully to various sectors of the economy.
The conference has brought together ministers, leadership development experts, business thinkers and other influential voices from Africa and beyond.
Among the invited speakers are Bishop Titus Masika of Kenya and Dr. David Sseppuuya of Uganda, alongside Nigerian speakers including Dr. Niyi Adesanya, Dr. Chief Ejoforbi, Apostle Charles Osazuwa and Apostle Gbenga Adegbenro, among others.
