Some gunmen have kidnapped two siblings from Umuoka, Amakohia-Ubi in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State on Thursday evening.
A source from the area told our correspondent that the siblings, a boy and a girl, aged 18 and 16 respectively, were whisked away by their abductors at about 6 pm, while on an errand close to their house.
Their residence, according to the source, is very close to the road leading to the farmlands of the community.
“Their father built his house at a new site leading to our farmlands, which is a bit secluded. They were together going to buy something when they were kidnapped,” the source said.
Meanwhile, another reliable source from the family said the abductors have demanded N100 million ransom.
“Yes they have demanded N100 million for the two of them. It’s a pity that their father is just a motorcycle mechanic, who has been hustling to raise his children,” the family source said.
In a similar development, a yet to be identified young man was abducted and killed at Atta Ikeduru council area of the state on Wednesday. The man, as seen in a viral video online was lying in a pool of his own blood after being shot by his abductors.
