In a message marking the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development 2025, First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has called on all Nigerians to celebrate the nation’s rich cultural heritage and foster unity through mutual respect and dialogue.

Highlighting the significance of the day, the First Lady said, “The World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development highlights the profound strength that lies in our differences and the shared humanity that connects us all. There is indeed strength and unity in diversity.”

She pointed to Nigeria’s unique cultural landscape, noting, “Nigeria, for example, is blessed with over 250 ethnic groups, each speaking a different language, but it is through our dialogue, our interactions, and our mutual respect that we find true identity and unity.”

Mrs. Tinubu encouraged citizens to embrace empathy and understanding as key tools for national cohesion. “On this day, I encourage every Nigerian to celebrate our cultural richness, to listen with empathy, and to lead with understanding. Let us embrace this journey together and shape a brighter future for Nigeria and the world.”

Concluding her message, the First Lady extended warm wishes to all Nigerians, saying, “Happy World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.”
