Anambra State Governor Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo has condemned the murder of Barr. Ifeanyi Iloakasia, President General of Aguleri community, killed alongside his client on May 15, near the Agulu-Nanka boundary.

In a statement by Press Secretary Christian Aburime, Soludo called the act cowardly and extended condolences to Iloakasia’s family, friends, and the Aguleri community, mourning the loss of a peace advocate.

Soludo assured residents that the state is working with security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure justice.

“Ndi Anambra should be assured that the State Government is taking this matter with the utmost seriousness,” he stated. He urged vigilance and cooperation with security forces to eliminate violent crime in Anambra.

The governor also praised security operatives for thwarting an attack on a checkpoint in Isuofia on May 15, 2025, despite losing one officer. He noted that calm has been restored and security operations intensified. Soludo empathised with those affected and reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining peace and security in the state.
