From Lateef Dada, Osogbo

As part of the activities marking the second year anniversary of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Osun State government has invited former president Olusegun Obasanjo to commission the 2.24km Old-garage-Okefia-lameco road.

The Secretary to the State Government, who is the Chairman of the anniversary committee, Teslim Igbalaye, disclosed this at a press conference in Osogbo at the weekend.  He said Obasanjo would commission the project on November 26.

According to Igbalaye, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, will commission Osogbo Ring Road on December 5, while the foundation laying of the airport project would be done on December 16 by the Ministers of Aviation and works, Festus Keyamo SAN, and David Umahi, who will also commission Akoda-Ede road.

In the same vein, 74 other eminent personalities who have contributed in one way or another to the progress of the state have been selected for recognition and will be presented awards on November 25.

He explained that the award would cover civil service, politicians, posthumous awards, and notable individuals in the state.

The anniversary which started with walk to live, press conference and Jumat service on November 22 will end on December 23, with the inspection of Ile-Ife flyover and Ilesa dualisation as well as cabinet accountability retreat.
