The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-olu has said his administration will continue to prioritize infrastructure development for businesses to thrive.

He made the remark yesterday at the closing ceremony of the  36th edition of the  Lagos International Trade Fair organised by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

Sanwo-olu also disclosed that the state was  collaborating with the Organized Private Sector and relevant  stakeholders to boost  business climate and  growth.

“We understand that a thriving business environment depends on strong infrastructure. Over recent years, we have made significant progress in road construction, public transport, and digital connectivity.”

Calling for  collaboration from relevant stakeholders, he said together, “we can build an economy that grows,  empowers, serves and sustains.
“Our commitment to engagement with stakeholders is ongoing and through initiatives such as the Lagos Corporate Assembly and the Lagos State Council on MSMEs, we facilitate dialogue between policymakers and the business community.
“These forums allow us to collaborate directly with the Organized Private Sector, sharing insights and addressing issues relevant to business growth and a conducive business climate.”
He urged business owners at the fair to
to continue forging partnerships, innovating and pushing forward for a prosperous, inclusive and resilient Lagos.
He pointed that through training, mentorship and incubation, the administration was nurturing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurial excellence that will continue to expand the SME landscape, commending LCCI for creating the  platform that connects  SMEs to markets, partnerships and growth opportunities.
President of the chamber, Gabriel Idahosa acknowledge the remarkable cooperation and support  from all concerned and the peace that prevailed throughout the  ten days ago.
“It is heartwarming to note that participants had rewarding business interactions during the fair. I commend and appreciate their resilience and optimism.”
He called on government to  continue to address the issues of enabling the environment in the country, especially regarding infrastructures, insecurity and the right policies to fix the key drivers of high inflation.
“We need to do this to fully harness the vast enterprising resources of domestic and foreign investors for the diversification of our economy and the welfare of our people. “

On her part, Folashade Ambrose- Medebem, Commissioner

Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, noted that this year’s theme; encapsulates the ministry’s vision and mission, adding that the ever-evolving global economy, fostering connections is no longer an option but a necessity.
” It is these connections that drive innovation, spur economic growth and inspire businesses to explore uncharted territories. As we connect, we create synergies; as we collaborate, we build value – value that transcends immediate profit and contributes to a more sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous future for all.”.
Commending the  LCCI, she noted that  the chamber has once again demonstrated an unyielding commitment to strengthening the business landscape of Lagos State and Nigeria.
