From Tony Osauzo, Benin

Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) member, Charles Idahosa, has officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State. Idahosa, who served as Political Adviser to former Governor Adams Oshiomhole, made the announcement during a ceremony in Benin City.

He expressed regret for the party’s internal conflicts four years ago that led to his departure, acknowledging that the APC had suffered as a result. However, he emphasized his commitment to working for the party’s success and urged members to remain united.

Idahosa also criticized Governor Godwin Obaseki’s claims that those leaving the PDP have been bribed, stating that Obaseki himself had begged him to join the APC during his first term. He questioned Obaseki’s confidence in winning 80% of the votes in the upcoming governorship election.

The APC leadership in Edo State welcomed Idahosa’s return, recognizing his contributions to the party in the past and his potential to mobilize support. They expressed confidence that his return would strengthen the party’s position in the state.
