Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof Zacchaeus Adangor, has resigned from his cabinet.

Prof Adangor’s resignation letter was dated November 14, 2013, and addressed to the Rivers State Governor, Fubara, through the Secretary to State Government.

The State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice emphasised that his resignation was based on personal principles.

He thanked the governor for giving him the opportunity to serve in his government as a member of the State Executive Council.

Prof Adangor, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), expressed his indebtedness in gratitude to Fubara and wished the governor successful governance.

Adangor’s resignation letter partly reads: “I hereby give Your Excellency Notice of my resignation as the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Rivers State with effect from the date of this letter.

“For the avoidance of doubt, my resignation from the said office is based purely on personal principles.

“I want wish to thank Your Excellency for the opportunity and privilege granted me to serve in your administration as a member of the Cabinet. My family and I are indebted to Your Excellency in gratitude.

“I wish Your Excellency a successful tenure. Please, accept the assurances of my highest regards always.”
