Five persons have been confirmed dead in an auto crash which occurred on Ife-Ilesa express road yesterday.
The incident occurred around 10 am, involving two vehicles with registration number FKJ691HZ and another.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), T. A. Sokunbi, who spoke through the Public Enlightenment Officer, Agnes Ogungbemi, confirmed the incident.
A female child and an adult, including three male adults, according to the FRSC, died in the accident.
The command also confirmed that a female adult who was injured in the accident was taken to the hospital.
Sokunbi explained that the only surviving woman was the one travelling with her family and her house maid, warning road users to desist from route violation and excessive speeding.
He said the driver of the vehicle was in custody of the police and would be charged to court.
Sokunbi further explained that a small bag containing jewelries, bags of clothes, N508,900 cash was handed over to the family members of the victims at the scene in the presence of police at Edun-abon and Toll Gate, while the crashed vehicles was taken over by Edun-abon police.
