A former member of the House of Representatives, Dapo Lam-Adesina has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is positioned to reclaim Oyo State from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement on Monday, the former lawmaker who represented the Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency between 2015 and 2019, said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing reforms are creating a roadmap for the party’s success in the state.
Lam-Adesina noted a growing national trend where states previously held by the opposition are gravitating toward the APC.
He argued that Oyo must align with the “center” to maximize developmental benefits.

“For nearly eight years, Oyo State has been in the opposition, and that does not good for us. With the current political trend across the country, we cannot afford to remain in the opposition come 2027,” he said.
He highlighted the party’s recent online registration exercise as a key tool for grassroots mobilization across Oyo’s 33 local government areas.
According to the former lawmaker, the increased allocation of funds to local governments under the Tinubu administration is a tangible example of good governance that will resonate with voters.
“Other states have willingly joined the APC because they understand the importance of aligning with power at the center. What this means is that the president’s reforms are speaking for themselves. We must take advantage of this to drive grassroots development and ensure victory,” he said.
Addressing his own political future, Lam-Adesina revealed that he is currently engaging in high-level consultations with stakeholders across his constituency and the state.
“Consultations are ongoing. In the coming days, my supporters and well-wishers will be informed of our direction regarding the 2027 elections,” he said.
