The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has ruled out the chances of one of its State governorship aspirants in Kano State, Ibrahim Khalil, over his alleged loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The party’s Deputy National Chairman (North West), Naja’atu Mohammed, disclosed this during a press conference at the NUJ Press Centre in Kano.

According to her, Khalil’s support for President Tinubu is well known, noting that he had made several public declarations of support for Tinubu in the past and in the present.

She said the ADC’s seven-member consensus committee, chaired by Ben Obi, is unlikely to consider a candidate whose allegiance to the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar is doubtful.

She remarked also that no fair-minded Northerner would want to politically associate with any aspirant or candidate perceived to be loyal to President Tinubu given the hardship, pain and anguish the region has suffered under this administration.

She lamented that in the last four years, hunger and insecurity have spread across the region while adding that insecurity has reached the level where women are left to watch the killing of their husbands.

Mohammed also dismissed the claim that she was solely responsible for the party’s refusal to adopt Ibrahim Khalil as its governorship candidate in the state, clarifying that she was only a member of the consensus committee assigned to handle the task.

The Deputy National Chairman also announced and then inaugurated a new Kano State ADC Caretaker Committee to drive the affairs of the party

Members of the committee included the Caretaker State Chairman, Umar Bala, the Caretaker Secretary, Ismail Musa Ibrahim, the Caretaker Publicity Secretary, Lawal Adamu Giginyu and the Caretaker Publicity Secretary, Barrister Mohammed Lawal Adamu who will serve as the Legal Adviser to the party.
