The Super Eagles’ Radisson Blu hotel in Kigali last night welcomed another set of eight players in preparation for the must-win World Cup qualifier against the Amavubi of Rwanda.
Apart from the early arrivals -Victor Osimhen, Tolu Arokodare, Bruno Onyemaechi, Papa Daniel, Kayode Bankole and Amas Obasogie, who hit the gym yesterday, another batch led by Moses Simon, Victor Boniface, Raphael Onyeka, Jordan Torunarigha, Stanley Nwabali, Samuel Chukwueze, Bright Osayi-Samuel and new invitee, Igoh Ogbu joined last night to bring the total players in camp to 14.
The players will be expected to have their first training this evening, and by then more players would have joined. With Nwabili’s arrival, the team now has a full compliment of the goalkeeping department.
Team captain, William Troost-Ekong is being expected later today alongside Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Joseph Aribo, Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi and Wifred Ndidi.
Ademola Lookman, according to a team official, is also being expected today alongside Sadiq Umar
The Super Eagles face home team the Amavubi of Rwanda Friday evening in continuation of the qualifying series for the 2026 World Cup.
Rwanda top the standings on seven points after four matches, while Nigeria are fifth with three points.
