From Sola Ojo, Kaduna
The Kaduna State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Yusuf Kabir Nadabo, yesterday, predicted a reduction in road crashes in Kaduna State.
The road safety expert, who stated this in his new year message to motorists and good people of Kaduna, however, noted that for that to happen, all hands must be on deck.
He said 2024 is a year of positive change, particularly in terms of enhanced traffic obedience and a significant reduction in road crashes. The sector commander acknowledged the challenges faced on Kaduna roads and the collective responsibility shared in making them safer for everyone. He believed that with a united effort, 2024 could be a turning point, “a year marked by increased awareness, improved road safety practices, and a notable decrease in accidents”.
“Under my leadership, the FRSC in Kaduna has been actively working to instil a culture of responsible driving. We do that through targeted educational programmes, rigorous enforcement of traffic regulations, and community engagement initiatives aimed at creating a safer road environment for all residents”, he said.
He further encouraged every individual to take a proactive role in shaping the road safety landscape of Kaduna State, just as he emphasised the importance of adhering to traffic rules, practicing patience, and promoting a culture of mutual respect among road users.
To him, by collectively embracing those principles, the community could contribute significantly to reducing the frequency of accidents and ensuring safer journeys for all.
“As we step into 2024, I’m optimistic of positive change. My vision extends beyond mere words. The command remains committed to providing the necessary support and resources to achieve this shared goal. He, therefore, wish the good people of Kaduna State a happy new year filled with prosperity, joy, and a steadfast commitment to building a safer road environment, “together, let us embark on this journey towards a future where traffic obedience prevails, crashes diminish, and our roads become exemplars of safety”.
