2018 U-20 Women’s W/Cup: Falconets battle Tanzania in race to France

Nigeria’s U-20 Women’s team Falconets, has been handed an easy first round qualification tie for the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup to be hosted by France .

According to the fixtures released by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) yesterday, Falconets will open their campaign for the France ticket against Tanzania in a two-legged tie in the first round .

Falconets, two -time runners up in 2010 and 2014, were exempted in the preliminary rounds  and will host Tanzania in the first leg of the first round fixtures early September 2017 and travel for the return leg on the weekend of 29, 30 September  or 1st October 2017.

The team coached by Peter Dedevbo, will be hoping to  better their group phase finish at the last edition of the tournament held in Papua New Guinea.

Other games in the first round qualifiers are as follows:

Algeria vs Ghana

Guinea vs Cameroon

South Africa vs Namibia

Morocco vs Senegal

(Winner between Burundi and Djibouti) vs Rwanda

 Tunisia vs (Winner of Libya and Sierra Leone)

 Ethiopia vs (Winner between Botswana and Kenya).
