Over 2,800 victims of armed banditry attacks in Zamfara State have so far befitted from the relief materials donated by the state government.

This was disclosed by the Chairman of Zamfara State Damage Impact Assessment and Relief Committee,
Alhaji Sanusi Garba Rikiji, in an interview during the symbolic distribution of relief materials provided by the Presidential Committee on Flood Disaster and Rehabilitation to the Victims of the recent  armed banditry attacks in the state.

Rikiji, who is also the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, said the intervention would be felt by the government and the people of the state, assuring that it would, in no small measure,  help in  solving many if not all the challenges faced by the victims especially women, children and elderly.

He added that the enormity of the disaster that befell the affected communities as a result of the deadly activities of the armed bandits necessitated the formation of the 33-member committee to assess and deliver relief packages to the victims.

“Let together continue to fight for peace and ideals of Democratic governance which cannot be achieved in a condition of unbridled hostilities, anarchy and any other form of lawlessness,” he said.
