A leading healthcare provider in Nigeria, the Bridge Clinic, on Friday said 3,825 babies have been born through In vitro fertilisation (IVF) in the facility within the past 25 years.
The Lead Consultant Gynaecologist at Bridge Clinic, Dr Babatunde Ogunniran, made this known when the facility marked a triple milestone of the 2025 World IVF Day, clinic’s 25th anniversary, the launch of a special fertility package, and its seventh consecutive win as ‘IVF Service Provider of the Year’ at the Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Awards. He stated that the World IVF Day was remarkable to the Bridge Clinic because it is an occasion to honour breakthrough that brought the first IVF baby, Louise Brown, into the world in 1978.

To celebrate this landmark year, the Bridge Clinic rolled out a week-long awareness campaign and a special fertility package designed to ease the path to parenthood for more couples.
Mrs Abang, Lead Counsellor, said the World IVF Day is about not only science, also about the lives changed and futures created. The Bridge Clinic has also fixed July 26 to host a forum that would feature educational workshops, patient testimonials, and an interactive question and answer session.
The management of the clinic has also announced that one lucky couple at each clinic location in Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Lagos, would receive free IVF treatment, towards opening new doors for those dreaming of parenthood.
