The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has flagged off its campaign for the 2027 presidential election with a promise to end the politics of deceit in the country.
The APM presidential candidate and Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, speaking at the campaign flag-off in Abuja, decried the current state of affairs in the country.
Makinde charged Nigerians who are dissatisfied with the situation in the country under the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government to embrace the Reset Nigeria Agenda of the APM.
According to him: “If you are not happy with the way things are in our country today, if you’re not happy that there’s not enough inclusivity, if you’re not happy that your government cannot tell you the truth, they cannot handle our issues with sincerity, then there’s only one path for us. And the path is to reset Nigeria.

“Don’t bother at all when they bring money, is your money. Collect it, spend it, but vote your heart. And I know your heart is with us and with APM.”
Similarly, the vice-presidential candidate, Lawal Daura, speaking at the campaign flag-off, stated that the politics of deceit and hypocrisy was threatening the survival of Nigerian democracy.
Daura stated that the APM, if voted into office, was determined to bring an end to deceit in governance. He stated that the APM Reset Nigeria Agenda emphasised inclusion in governance.
According to him: “The politics of deceit and hypocrisy are what are about to kill Nigerian democracy. The APM, through its Reset Agenda, is determined to fight these ills and ensure that anyone who finds themselves in government will have no choice but to be honest, sincere and committed to the cause of the Nigerian people.
“It is not about alienating others. It is about all of us. That is why the Reset Agenda advocates an all-inclusive government. Inclusivity here means that all Nigerians, irrespective of creed, colour or religion, will have a place in government, not only to work for the people, but also to develop an agreed work plan that will take this country to greater heights and address the activities of retrogressive politicians who have, over the years, continued to pull the country backwards.”
