A 32-year-old woman (name withheld) has been rescued alive after falling into a 60-foot well in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

It was learnt that the incident occurred around 1:21 pm on Wednesday at No. 1A Mustapha Bolatiwa Street, off Agric Road, Ikorodu North LCDA, Ikorodu.

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the development in a situation report signed by Controller General, Margaret Adeseye.

According to the report, the accidental fall resulted from a depressed condition.

She disclosed that the rescue operation was undertaken by personnel from the Ikorodu Fire Station and the Rescue Crew of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS).

The report reads, “A distress call was received regarding a reportedly depressed female adult, approximately 32 years old, who accidentally fell into an uncovered well about 60 feet deep.

“The victim was said to have wandered from a nearby building before the incident occurred while she was sitting on the edge of the well.

“Upon arrival, the rescue crew immediately commenced operations and successfully rescued the victim alive.

“She was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.”
