Asiwaju Segun Showunmi, the National Publicist of the People’s Democratic Party recently buried his mother, Mrs Showunmi who was one of the big players in cocoa business in Nigeria in the 80s.
The befitting burial is still the talk of the town as Nigeria’s entertainment, business; social and political elite stormed Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The Christian wake keep held penultimate Friday and was put together by a top Lagos based event planner while the interdenominational service and internment held the next day, Saturday at mama’s residence at new Ilula Quarters Judge street, Sijuade, Akure, Ondo State.
A grand reception that swept family, friends and associates off their feet took place at Amazing Place events centre, Oda/Shoprite road Akure subsequently.
Segun Showummi who is also a socialite was a key spokesperson for the People’s Democratic Party and ex-president Jonathan.
