Commissioner of Police, Taraba State, Mr Joseph Eribo, has warned criminals to stay away from the state because it will be hot for them. The command recently arrested 12 suspects from the scenes of crime.
He said: “I have charged my officers to go after the hoodlums in their hideouts and checkmate them from coming from neighbouring states. I told them to shun corruption and imbibe community policing to enable them have good relationship with members of the public.
“My mission is to fight crime and criminality and ready to protect the lives and properties of the people. We need the support of the stakeholders and community leaders to make sure that there is peace in their environments.
“Police operatives arrested some suspected armed robbers and fraudsters. They were rounded up in Jalingo and AK-47 rifles and cartridges recovered from them. I have deployed officers and operational resources especially at identified strategic and vulnerable points across the state. We remain professional courteous in discharge of our duties.
“I have visited all the flashpoints and the tactical team is fully in charge. The officers are at alert to deal ruthlessly with vicious criminal elements. They will not go unpunished.”
