President, Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Pastor Samuel Oladele, has said corruption might not be completely eradicated in Nigeria but could be reduced maximally with the intervention of God
The cleric, who spoke at the 2025 Pastors’ Conference of the church held at the Ayo Babalola Memorial Camp, along Ilesa-Akure Expressway, said corruption would be reduced in Nigeria if people can seek the face of God and pray fervently.
Speaking on the theme, “Preparing God’s people for leadership,” Pastor Oladele emphasised that the current leadership of the country was trying to put an end to the current economic hardship in the land through its policies. He, therefore, called on the people to join hands with the administration of President Bola Tinubu for the good of the country.
He said the policies introduced by the current administration were aimed at building a solid foundation for the country’s economy, stressing that some of the policies were already yielding good results, considering the current exchange rate of Naira to dollar.
He bemoaned the attitude of some individuals in the country, saying those who are benefiting from the rot of the past governments are not pleased with the reform policies of the current administration.
He said the current economic reform policies were necessary for the country to get out of the menace of economic downturn and move to the next level of economic growth, development and progress.
According to him, “Corruption may not be completely eradicated in Nigeria, except we are deceiving ourselves. There is corruption in other parts of the world, including Europe, America and the United kingdom, among other civilised and advanced countries.
“What we need in Nigeria is God’s intervention to reduce corruption. We need God’s intervention in Nigeria and that is the only way out of our current challenges. The Ministers of God, including Christian and Islamic clerics, should preach against corruption. The leaders and the led should also live above corruption,” he stressed.
He called for attitudinal and behavioural change among Nigerians, saying the country would be a better place to live if the people change their attitudes and behaviours.
