Lawmakers representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has called on political stakeholders and residents of the district to set aside partisan interests and work together for the development of the area.
She made the call yesterday when she received a delegation of supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by former Director-General of the Kogi State Bureau of Lands, Alhaji Abdulmalik Teina, during an appreciation visit.
The delegation, drawn from various communities across Kogi Central, said it came to commend the senator for her representation and commitment to the welfare of the people, regardless of political affiliation.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Teina praised Akpoti-Uduaghan for what he described as her accessibility, courage and dedication to the interests of Kogi Central at the National Assembly.
He said the senator had continued to demonstrate quality leadership through her interventions, empowerment programmes and advocacy on issues affecting the district.
“We are here today as stakeholders and supporters from different political backgrounds to appreciate Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for her remarkable service to the people of Kogi Central. Leadership is about service and she has continued to show that she is committed to the progress and development of our land.”

Teina noted that many residents had benefited from the senator’s initiatives, despite political differences, adding that her performance had earned her support across party lines.
Other members of the delegation also commended the lawmaker for maintaining close contact with her constituents and for consistently raising issues affecting Kogi Central at the national level.
Akpoti-Uduaghan thanked the delegation for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of unity and a shared commitment to the advancement of the district. She said meaningful development could only be achieved when citizens and leaders place the collective interest of the people above political considerations.
“We must drop party sentiments when it comes to the development of Kogi Central. The progress of our people should always come first,” she said, while assuring the visitors that she would continue to serve all residents of the district irrespective of their political affiliation, religion or ethnic background.
“I remain committed to serving every resident of Kogi Central regardless of political party, religion or ethnic background. The mandate entrusted to me belongs to all the people and I will continue to do my best to justify their confidence,” she added.
The lawmaker further urged political leaders and stakeholders across the district to embrace unity and support initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
The visit ended with prayers for peace, unity and sustainable development in Kogi Central and Kogi State, while the delegation reaffirmed its support for efforts geared towards improving the living conditions of residents and strengthening democratic governance in the district.
