The 2027 governorship campaign of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has received a boost with the appointment of Federal Commissioner representing Ogun State on the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Hon. Akeem Akintayo Amosun, as Deputy Director for Ogun Central Senatorial District.
Amosun is among the 74 members appointed to the campaign council to drive the Yayi governorship project across Ogun State ahead of the 2027 election.
His appointment places him at the heart of the campaign’s mobilisation structure in Ogun Central, where he is expected to coordinate grassroots engagement, strengthen existing political structures and work with stakeholders to broaden support for Senator Adeola.
The development is also being viewed by political observers within the Yayi camp as recognition of Amosun’s growing role in grassroots mobilisation and political organisation across the senatorial district.
Over the past several months, Amosun has been actively involved in political engagements across Ogun Central, particularly in Abeokuta South and adjoining areas. He has participated in the mobilisation of coordinators and grassroots supporters while maintaining engagements with party members, community leaders, youths and other stakeholders.
His approach has largely centred on sustained grassroots contact and the strengthening of political structures beyond major campaign events.
